Heat Exchange

Wind driven ventilation

Wind cowl Buildings require good ventilation for a healthy internal environment. However, when a building is super-insulated, traditional trickle ventilation can account for 50% of heat loss.

Zed homes incorporate wind driven ventilation that directs air into the building, whilst also drawing used, stale air out. Inside each ventilation unit is an efficient heat recovery unit that transfers the heat from outgoing air to the fresh incoming air.

The heat exchanger in the wind-driven ventilation system recovers between 50% and 70% of the warmth from the outgoing stale air.
