Project Manager
Due to unprecedented growth we are seeking a Project Manager to join our team working on a variety of challenging and complex projects throughout England.
With a degree in Construction or a related discipline, and preferably professionally qualified, you will be an experienced Project Manager, able to demonstrate a minimum of 3 years project management experience. A natural leader, with a proven track record of delivering a portfolio of projects, you will have sound knowledge of management processes and their implementation.
As the Project Manager you would be responsible for the resourcing, development and leadership of a team, defining and communicating project objectives and constraints and complying with health, safety and environmental legislation, thereby delivering the end product on time, within budget and to the agreed quality. Aiming to maximise profit for the company regarding quality, programme and budget.
Key Activities would be to:
- Define and communicate common aims for all working practices
- Produce effective project briefs for internal and external use
- Produce clear budgets and cash flows during the development of the project
- Build a motivated and effective team
- Ensure that the skills within the team are effectively utilised
- Facilitate and/or provide appropriate training and development opportunities to team members
- Work with the company's consultant team as an integrated part of the team
- To Liaise directly with Design Teams and external Consultants
- Prepare progress reports for in - house management meetings
- Monitor progress against programme and production of weekly working priorities
- Produce revised programmes as required
- Taking lead role in main contract progress meetings and presenting progress reports at these meetings
- Demonstrate an understanding of the key technical drivers from the perspective of our company
- Understand and define the projects objectives to the project delivery team ( in house and external)
- Identify best method of communication for all parties and communicate accordingly
- Undertake strategic programming, from overall project programme to detailed task scheduling, from inception to completion (where relevant) in conjunction with the consultant team ( external project managers)
- Integration of all programmes and functions during each project phase.
- Provide change control procedure to maximum added value and minimise disruption to the project
- Identify critical success factors and KPI's and feed back into monitoring and reporting systems
- Understand the company's needs and prioritise them
- Ensure regular feedback during execution of project, implement necessary changes and carry out end of project review
- Understand and communicate commercial aims of the project and business plan objectives - Ensure that the commercial, reporting and forecasting procedure that are in place are fully understood and implemented.
Key Competencies: The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. The demonstration of effective listening and questions to check understanding. The ability to persuade and influence others to gain agreement to and acceptance of ideas. Work to understand project needs, and to meet and exceed expectations and to establish and maintain longer term relationships with suppliers, consultants etc.
